Does Digital Music Marketing accept any kind of music for distribution?
Our main focus is Adult Alternative, an eclectic format that provides a nice umbrella for a variety of genres, but certainly not all. Our catalog includes Indie, Roots, Blues, Alternative, Electronic, Singer/Songwriter, Reggae, and Comedy to give you a quick idea where our taste and expertise can best be applied. We love music and want to hear from you if you have a project we can help you with.
What download stores do you deliver to?
Amazon MP3, AMI Entertainment (Jukebox), Ecast Network (Jukebox), eMusic, FYE's Downloads Unlimited, iMesh (P2P), iTunes, Napster, MediaNet, MOG, MySpace Music, Puretracks , Rhapsody, Spotify, ThinkIndie, Topspin Media, TouchTunes Interactive Networks (Jukebox), Wal-Mart MP3 and Zune.
I already distribute some of my music directly with specific stores. Would Digital Music Marketing still be able to distribute my music?
Digital Music Marketing’s DMDA (Digital Music Distribution Agreement) provides the ability to list the stores with which you already have distribution. We also include the ability to reserve licensees should you be in process or want to set aside the right to set up distribution directly with a particular service.
What's provided with your Digital Distribution service?
DMM encodes and delivers your music to all our download partners. We’ll walk you through each step of the process and help you gather the materials and information needed for successful delivery. Your title(s) are included in the DMM new release sheet which is also pitched during scheduled sales calls with our programming and content representatives at each of the stores. We also feature your releases on our company website and our social network destinations. In addition to the distribution support mentioned above, DMM offers other options for Internet Marketing and Promotion (iMAP) services to help take your campaign to the next level. How much does it cost?
There are no upfront or recurring fees for the encoding or digital delivery of your music. DMM operates its distribution service based on a percentage of net sales. We believe this is the most productive arrangement for selling your music as we only get paid when your music sells. Every one's interests are aligned in the success of the project.
What type of contract do you offer?
Our initial agreement is for 2 years and is non-exclusive. After that, we renew for 1 year periods or you can choose to cancel.
I would like to receive a contract proposal, how do I do this?
Digital Music Marketing evaluates digital distribution contracts on a case by case basis. We start with a review of your music which is our primary consideration. We also look at artist management and/or your ability to provide management and marketing functions. On a lesser note, we look at the quality of artist materials such as bio and press, photos and existing web presence. These factors help us gauge your market readiness and insure you and your project are honed and ready for a successful sales cycle. If you are interested in having us distribute your music, please visit our contact page and send as much information as possible. Our content team will review and get back with you as quickly as possible.
How long does it take for my music get into the download stores?
In general, most digital download stores request a 2 week lead time on delivery. Digital Music Marketing’s street dates for scheduling new releases are the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. To insure your title is available in the download stores on the day you expect, we require all artist materials be delivered 60 days in advance of street date. For example, if you are planning for a June 21, 2011 release, we will need to have your materials Monday April 25, 2011. This allows us to properly set up your release so it receives the priority consideration we need to execute on your marketing plan.
When and how do I get paid?
Digital Music Marketing provides quarterly accounting and royalty payment within thirty (30) days after the end of each calendar quarter. A January - March calender quarter would be sent the end of April and so on throughout the year. DMM also provides a web-based digital sales dashboard that allows you to track your digital revenue streams as they become available.
